"Welcome to my blog space. I believe that God has carefully placed gems in our paths to fill our days with joy. The challenge for us is to take the time to notice them. My desire is to share the gems in my life so that, hopefully, you will see the ones He's placed in yours. I hope what you read here will be worth your time and you'll want to return often." - Cathy

  1. Dear Cathy - Finding the gems is a challenge. It is like the seed being thrown into thorns and weeds and it dies. For me it is not finding the time. I have time on my hands. For me it is clearing a path through the weeds of negative reactions to bad things that happen throughout life, through the weeds of anxiety, depression, disillusionment. The enemy uses these things to prevent us from finding the gems. The challenge for me is to find a way through all this. Jesus says He is the Way. I must pick up my cross and follow Him. I need all the encouragement here, in this world, to overcome my obstacles that stop me from finding the gems.

  2. Madeleline, I feel you pain as I too have been there often. When I find myself in those situations I pray asking God to not let these hard times be wasted. I pray that he will enable me to learn whatever lessons he may have in store for me through them, or that if I'm going through it for another person's benefit, that I will be a true witness of Christian response to my situation.

I also pray that you will find prayer warriors who are in touch with you often who can pray for you with persistence.
